Expandable Polystyrene (EPS)
Raw polystyrene resin beads for foam packaging, EPS panels, and insulation
CAS No: 9003-53-6

Product Overview
Expandable Polystyrene (EPS) is a rigid, closed-cell polystyrene resin supplied as small beads pre-impregnated with a pentane blowing agent. It is the raw material, not the finished “Styrofoam” product, that customers expand with steam and then mould or fuse into blocks, boards, panels, and shaped packaging. Once processed, EPS is roughly 98% air and 2% polystyrene, giving an exceptionally lightweight material with excellent thermal insulation, shock absorption, and moisture resistance. Orbitron Sciechem supplies packaging-grade (fine bead), construction and insulation-grade (coarse bead), and flame-retardant EPS across Kenya and East Africa, with technical data sheets and consistent lot-to-lot quality.
